OOR Round 8 Round Up – France Update

Written by SWO Fail

A massive welcome to everyone from Asia Tier 2 this week as France and Paul Ricard make a return to the season. We’ll be taking a look at the overall constructors championship, shining the spotlight on Oceania Tier 2 and the some of the big championship movers after France.

All Tiers Constructors’ Championship

Renault continues their dominance at the front of the field streaking even further ahead of the championship with some huge results in France. Further down the order Ferrari continues to make gains on Red Bull where the gap is down to a tiny 11 points.

Further down the field both Toro Rosso and Sauber edge closer to the podium positions for season 3, while the Haas, Force India and McLaren battle continues to exist on a knife edge with only 43 points splitting the three teams.

Lastly, a look at how each team has performed over the last three rounds. It’s been great to see Force India and Haas coming in 3rd and 4th in the last few rounds and close in on those in front. Hopefully we’ll continue to see the teams get closer as the season continues and keep the fight alive until the very end.

Oceania Tier 2 Drivers’ Championship

Of all 7 tiers in OOR, Oceania Tier 2 has been by far the closest this season with some of the fastest drivers, but smallest differences in pace. Nothing exemplifies this more than the fact that from 4th to 11th place in the championship are separated by a mere 12 points.

Diaboles sits in a strong 3rd, while Tony tries to reel in Fiery for the top spot in Tier 2. What makes this fight even more fascinating is the fact that Tony is scoring 18.50 points per race entered, 2.25 points per race more than the current championship leader.

Round 9 should be a spectacular race with the ladder heating up both at the pointy end and in the midfield.

Round 8 Movers and Shakers

Let’s have a look at some of the big performers this week who’ve made huge leaps in the championship standing and points finishes. A big congratulations to Zenn, Astrix, Leo, NimbleEel and Cucumber all of whom have smashed their previous 3 races performance in France, outdoing their previous points scoring by a substantial factor.

Lastly, shoutout to those who’ve made the biggest gains in their respective championships after the race in France, jumping well up the order.

The Coming Weeks

The upcoming European rounds should give some much needed clarity on the direction of some of the tiers with incredibly close battles existing in every single group of drivers. Will we see someone finally stop the Renault dominance? And who will prevail in in tightest OOR midfield in Oceania Tier 2?

Finally, it’s great to see the OOR family growing with the start of Asia Tier 2 this week. We look forward to some great racing and close battles!

Good luck and good racing!
